All commercial establishments, activities, and events can operate at 100% capacity.

Although the use of a mask is not mandatory, it is recommended to maintain the protocol of hand washing and temperature taking, as well as compliance with health protocols in each tourist activity.

We offer complimentary fiber optic Wi-Fi to all of our guests.

Health services

Please bring all prescription and over-the-counter medications that you need with you. We do not have an on-call doctor or medical services available on site. If you require medical attention or supplies during your stay, please come prepared to administer your own needs or make arrangements in advance.

The nearest pharmacy is X miles away, and the nearest emergency room is X hours away.

Weather

Costa Rica’s weather is tropical, and temperatures remain the same nearly year round with average daytime highs in the upper 80s to low 90s and nighttime lows in the upper 70s. Precipitation varies by month with December through April being the driest.

Casa Kia Ora is a non-smoking community. We do not permit smoking in accommodations or common areas.

Cannabis is prohibited.

Service animals are welcome at Casa Kia Ora. Please contact us directly for other pet inquiries.

Things to Do

Dominical and the coastline south of it, offers endless activities. With miles of beaches backed by rainforest-covered mountains, it provides a stunning setting for a variety of adventures from canopy and ATV tours to horse back riding, surfing, and snorkeling—all within minutes of our location.

Things to Bring

Bring light, casual, comfortable clothing that you do not mind getting dirty while adventuring. We also recommend bringing some light, loose, long-sleeved shirts and pants to provide protection against mosquitos. The following list covers additional items to bring to ensure your stay in Costa Rica is as pleasurable as possible.

Getting Here

Casa Kia Ora is located about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) from the great expanse of Playa Dominical on the Puntarenas Province in Costa Rica.

Air travel

San Jose International Airport (SJO) —> Managua Airport, Quepos (XQP)


We recommend you fly to San Jose International Airport (SJO) and then catch a short flight to Quepos/Manuel Antonio (Managua Airport, XQP).

We provide pick-up transportation from the Managua Airport (XQP) to Casa Kia Ora. Please communicate your travel plans with us at least 3 days prior to your arrival to make these arrangements.

We have partnered with Costa Rica Green Airways to provide you the easiest, most reliable way to book your flights between San Jose and Quepos.

You will receive first class service including a beverage and a friendly, bilingual pilot for the 20 minute flight to Quepos.

 

Rental car from San Jose

You may also choose to rent a car in San Jose and take the beautiful 3+ hour scenic drive to Dominicalito.

Driving directions from San Jose:

  • Go west on Autopista del Sol (the Caldera Highway) to the town of Orotina.

  • Take the Costanera Sur Highway after the Pavon toll booth.

  • Take the exit to Jaco and then continue all the way down the coast until you reach Dominicalito beach.

  • Make a left on Calle Cuesta del Diablo (you will see a large sign with our logo), pass by Plaza Deportes Dominicalito (soccer field on the right), destination will be on the right.
