KIA ORA SABITHA
Just roll those words around your mind and mouth and feel the sensation. What do you see in your minds eye?
What sounds do you hear?
Do you hear, feel and sense a yoga retreat hosted by me, Fran, in one of my favorite spots in Costa Rica?
It’s in the jungle, it’s close to the ocean. It’s luxurious, it’s on point. I love this property and Nicola who owns it.
I am not going to describe in detail that which is quite descriptive in photographs. Suffice to say it’s about 2 hours from where I live, so every 4 weeks or so, I travel down there to take a yoga class in The Shala followed by a delicious brekkie in the Kunjani Cafe. Another word to roll around the mouth. Kunjani is a Zulu word and is a greeting which roughly translates to How are You? IsiZulu is one of the official languages of South Africa. Take a wee look at this video and get to know Nicola who voices it.
Retreat Host
Fran Brynford-Jones
My name is Fran Brynford-Jones and I live and teach in Jaco, Costa Rica. I trained in Sydney, Australia as a Slow Flow, Yin and Yoga Nidra Teacher, having been practising longer than I care to remember. From my personal experience both as a student and a teacher I think it is important to prioritise listening. I try to hear what the student is saying even when they cannot actually express what they mean in words. Or don’t want to.
